Many OTC medicines have an extensive list of ingredients. Are they really all necessary? What about side effects? All medicines are created to mimic natural alternative in a more convenient way to provide to general public. Over the counter drugs carry with them a danger of overdosing and prolonged use of these drugs are discouraged and can lead to further medical problems. For me and my family, using natural alternatives is a no brainer. I think there is a place for pharmaceutical drugs and all the other wonders modern medicine has to offer, but when it comes to everyday health I prefer a more natural route. I have created a First Aid and Wellness Kit that uses essential oils to promote health and well-being and nourishes our bodies when we are run down and fighting off illness. This article will share with you some tips and tricks for putting together your own Natural First Aid and Wellness Kit at home.
*Because each and every one of us are different our Wellness kits will also be unique based on individual needs. This list is for basic first aid and common ailments.
Why You Should Have a Natural First Aid and Wellness Kit at home.
Have you ever stopped to think about the ingredients in medicine products? I became much more aware when I first became a mother. When my kids were babies there were several recalls on Children’s Tylenol and Motrin, every few months it seemed. The fact that there could be multiple recalls on the same medicine in a couple year period freaked me out. Especially when those reasons have included nauseating package odors, small glass or metal particles in liquid medicines and wrong levels of active ingredients (YIKES!). From then on I began to take a natural approach to our medicine. While herbs and essential oils are very potent, they are generally safe and can be used without worry. Below are some recipes that I have stocked in my natural wellness kit. I have one at home and a smaller travel kit for on-the go. You can watch my video about my travel kit here.
