If you follow me on Instagram, I share a lot of the dinners I make. I try and cook 6 nights a week and love to share my yummy, easy and healthy recipes. I recently tried a dish that was inspired by a good friend of mine (check her out on Instagram @thesilksparrow) it quickly became a family favorite because it’s so easy to throw together, healthy and loaded with fresh, delicious ingredients! Everyone can customize it to their liking! Here is my recipe for Simple Sushi Rice Bowl Recipe!

Simple Sushi Rice Bowl Recipe

If you are like me and don’t like raw fish, no worries, I make this meal with cooked fish instead of uncooked! If you are into raw fish, you can use that too! That is what I love about this recipe! You can totally make it your own!

Ingredients:

  • Fish (raw fish, seared fish, cooked fish, even canned fish – I love tuna, salmon or shrimp)
  • Sushi Rice
  • Fresh chopped veggies ( I love cucumber, shredded carrots, radishes, avocado chopped green onions, etc.)
  • Fresh Chopped herbs (I love mint, basil, cilantro, etc.)
  • Spicy Mayo (organic mayo, chopped garlic & siracha)
  • Seaweed sheets
  • Aminos, Soy Sauce, Coconut Aminos, lemon wedges, etc.
How to put together your simple sushi rice bowl

Cook up your sushi rice following the directions. I like to cook mine in homemade bone broth for added nutrients and flavor. Prepare your fish to your liking. I heavily sear mine or for a quick and simple option I use canned salmon or tuna. Once rice and fish are finished add rice to a bowl and a good portion of fish. Then just top the bowl with your favorite toppings. The ingredients all taste so yummy together and the fresh ingredients really help the dish not feel too heavy. My whole family loves this, my kids like how they can make their own bowls and choose which toppings they want to include. It’s the perfect, healthy and easy to make dinner! I order most of the ingredients (except the fresh veggies) in my Thrive Market box, which if you haven’t tried yet makes grocery shopping so much easier! The veggies come in my Farm Fresh to You box (use code VICT1844 to get 15% off your first order) that I customize every week. Honestly, if you haven’t hopped on the online shopping train it is such a time and money saver. I spend less because I don’t have all the impulse buys, I can plan ahead to have everything I need on hand for the weekly meals, you save on gas, you can do it in your PJ’s with a glass of wine, etc. I can go on and on about the benefits, but seriously, try it for yourself!
