Cellulite is one of the harder types of fats to dissolve in the body. It is an accumulation of old fat cell clusters that solidify and harden as skin loses its elasticity. This condition affects mainly women, but it can be present in men as well. Statistics show that 90% of women have cellulite, while only 10% of men seem to suffer from it. One reason for this is because of how female connective cords are arranged. In women, these connective cords are perpendicular to the epidermis and muscle, forming a ladder when viewing a cross-section of skin. Conversely, men’s connective cords are arranged in a crosshatch pattern, meaning they are better able to keep the fat in place.

Therapeutic grade essential oils may help reduce fat cells, enhance circulation and support the elimination of fatty deposits. Cellulite can be slow to dissolve so target areas should be worked for a month or more in conjunction with weight training, healthy eating and drinking purified water each day. With a consistent routine and using a cellulite reduction cream you can begin to see results in about 4-6 weeks! I have been making my own personal products to reduce the amount of toxins I am exposed to and came up with this awesome cellulite reduction cream recipe!

Here is what I use to make my DIY cellulite reduction cream. It’s easy to make, natural and non-toxic!

DIY Cellulite Reduction Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Coconut Oil (where to buy)
  • Cypress Essential Oil
  • Juniper Essential Oil
  • Citrus Essential Oil (Grapefruit, Lemon, Lemongrass, Lime, Orange or Tangerine)
  • Glass Jar (where to buy)
  1. With a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat the oil until it is fluffy like whipped cream. Add 4 drops of each essential oil per 2 ounces of coconut oil and beat to incorporate.
  2. Fill your desired container with the cellulite reduction cream and refrigerate for another hour.
  3. This cream will keep about 6 months at room temperature. It will soften in warm weather because coconut oil liquifies at warmer temperatures. If this happens it can be re-whipped and stored in the refrigerator.

It’s very simple to make, contains no chemicals and very effective. I feel it is important to use therapeutic grade essential oils as they offer the most benefit. Lower grade, store bought oils will not have the same benefits. I have been very happy with the results and am excited to share this recipe with you!
